How we are doing our part:
- The inn purchases renewable electricity through a blended program of wind, solar, hydro, and biomass sources.
- Guest rooms, the lobby, and back-office areas all have a recycling stream, so staff can capture waste before it reaches the landfill.
- Food scraps from breakfast and staff prep are composted throughout the year.
- Soft plastics such as wrap, sleeves, and bags are collected separately and sent to a decking-material recycler.
- Breakfast supplies, paper goods, and cleaning products are chosen with recycled content, renewable materials, or lower-impact ingredients whenever practical.
- Our lobby coffee is roasted nearby, supports a local business, and cuts down on unnecessary shipping.
- A towel and linen reuse program helps reduce water, energy, and detergent use without taking comfort away from guests.
- Older incandescent bulbs around the property have been replaced with efficient LED or compact fluorescent lighting.
- Leftover soap and bottled amenities are routed into a hygiene-reuse partner instead of being discarded after partial use.
- Monthly utility tracking helps us notice whether energy-saving measures are actually working.
- Garden care favors natural pest methods so harsh chemicals stay out of the soil and water.
